I'm applying to USC, all of the UC campuses, and Harvey Mudd College. What are my chances?

Harvey Mudd: Large Reach
UCB/UCLA: Large Reach
UCSD: Reach-Large Reach
USC: Reach-Large Reach
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Slight Reach-Reach
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Match-Safe Match

UCB/UCLA/UCSD/USC/Harvey Mudd are really all out of the question. Focus on getting your GPA and possibly SAT's up a bit and you would have a shot at mid tier UC's (UCI/UCSB/UCD). Best of luck!

usc, ucr, and merced are pretty much your only choices. You might get lucky and get into one of the mid-tier schools because of your strong ECs..

UCSC and UCR are not horrible schools at all. They are very different, though, you will want to visit both. UC Merced is the newest UC, really in its infancy, but there are some advantages to that as well.

They're definitely not horrible schools. I personally would love to attend UCSC, as it's a really excellent school despite not having all the 'stellar' stats that the top UCs have. UCR is not as bad as many make it out to be; it's still a very good university, though people seem to dislike the city it's in. And UCM isn't nearly as bad as people make it seem; it's a brand-new university with all-new facilities, faculty, alumni -- but it won't grow unless people have faith in the institution.

Thank you all for the advice! As of now, I have removed Davis, Merced, Santa Cruz, and Berkeley off my list because they are too far from my hometown (San Diego). For the remaining five schools (UCSB, UCR, UCI, UCLA, UCSD), I'll just have to seek my chances.

However, just to be on the safe side, I have added a few state schools: SDSU, CSU San Marcos, Cal Poly Pomona, and Cal Poly SLO. What are my chances for these schools?

Secondly, which Cal Poly campus is better for the computer science major? And how do these campuses rank among the UC's?

Firstly, taking what many of these people say into deep consideration is stupid. Dont let them discourage you in anyway. Ive seen people with perfect scores denied, and those with low scores accepted, so just go for it will all your heart, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
