****The 1290 is from earlier on in my junior year, im expecting a 1350+, im also taking the Spanish, US History, and Math2 subject tests… is my list too unrealistic? Any feedback is appreciated!

UF - Match
USC - match/slight reach
Stanford/Brown - reach
WUSTL - depends, how much interest have your demonstrated?

I don't know about Williams, Amherst, Pomona

is this as of right now? (1290) or an expected 1350ish?

FFF,
A 1350 is still in the lower 25% of A, W & P. However, you are a 1st generation Latino male with solid GPA and rank, all of which will work in your favor. Amherst and (I think) Williams have paid diversity weekends in the fall. Try to attend them, both to increase you chances of admission and more importantly to find out if they're the right schools for you.

FFF, my post to you was using the 1290.

With a 1350 you have more of a chance at USC, but Stanford and Brown are still reaches (they are for everybody!).

WUSTL still depends on how much interest you have demonstrated. If you REALLY want to go there, apply ED.

lol, alright, well, im seeing reaches... what are some good matches/slight reaches i should look into? (off my list, which i think only UF and USC are attainable)

What are you looking into studying? What type of campus atmosphere do you prefer? What part of the country?

lol, my very own GC!!!! (our whole department is leaving, so we get new ones next year... mine was very affirmative-action quota-y, "omg you're brown you can get in anywhere!" kinda mindset guy... lol)

uh... i wanna dual major in spanish & liberal arts-ish/general studies/polisci lol.. social science.... the smaller the school, the better, as far as part of the country.... anywhere but fla!! ('cept UF)

Hmm...Trinity in San Antonio maybe. I don't know much about colleges that are strong in Spanish, but that's a liberal arts school in an interesting multicultural city that fuses Mexican and American culture like no other.

I'd say UF can be your safety.. with your stats, background, and residency.

Just so we're clear--are you posting a 1290 score (with an expected 1350+) for all 3 parts of the SAT I, or for just the critical reading and math portions of the test?

a 1290/1350 just math/verbal.... i know im not einstein, but im not stupid either :) (no offense to those here on CC that have scored a 1200-1400 on all 3 sections.....) lol... some schools still ignore it, so i omit it... practice tests are showing a mid/upper 600

melli, as far as UF being my safety, thats what i thought it was, lol... until somone told me it was a match, and i was like WHAT? my weighted GPA for UF is like 4.4something, and my semi-old SAT qualifies for 100% bright futures, so chances are i should get in.... i've seen many less-qualified students get accepted who happened to be, if not as "well rounded" as me, less...our val/sal for the last 2 years have attened UF full-ride.... but the Florida University System (FUS) doesnt practice AA, it's adopted some Talented Twenty plan that states like texas (although it had a 10% plan, lol)... so just stat-wise, UF should be a safety or a really really good match...our school had like 15-20 UFies last year, mostly taken out of the top 30 students ish.. the rest went for FSU all with bright futures scholarships

Everything is a reach except for UF and USC.
