USC undergrad admission interview

Hi all,

Could you please give me some tips about interviewing for undergrad business program at USC? I have my interview scheduled on dec 12th and I am very nervous. Does the interview play a role in admission? What kind of questions do they ask? Is it a formal process? Who does the interview? I read from this thread that the Dean of admission is the one doing the interview, is that right? Please help!!!

ill let you know when i finish mine. im doing it this friday so good luck to me
marshall hopeful too

Not sure if an interview is required for your business major, but you really should only interview if you are confident and very ready and willing to talk about yourself. It’s like a job interview in that regard. When my son applied to USC, he knew he would be nervous in the interview so he decided against it. We were told that if he didn’t interview it would not affect his chances of admission one bit. But if he did a POOR interview, it could negatively affect his admission. So only interview if you are very confident that you will be portrayed in a very positive light afterwards!

Mine did not interview either. She had no time and if it was not required, she did not initiate the interview process.

My daughter interviewed with an assistant dean of admissions for Marshall. She wore a nice pant suit; she had had a prior interview with a different school before the Marshall one. Your interview is your chance to sell yourself, so you might want to do a practice with some friends or your parents.
Good luck!

D said interview was nicest she has done- interviewer (a woman) asked her questions about what she has been doing in a conversational way. It ended up taking an hour, even though she was told when we got there that it would last half an hour.
