USC v Cal for Mechanical Engineering

Hi,

I have already gotten into USC's Viterbi for Mech E. as well as UCLA for Mech E. I favor USC over UCLA for multiple reasons that I will not get into on this thread.

My question is for your opinion on whether I should choose Cal over USC, (only if I get into Cal of course)? or vice versa, and for what reasons.

Are there any Mechanical Engineering Majors out there that can tell me how the classes are like and such?

Thank you.

I'm going to say Berkeley, no contest, if only because with Berkeley you get the MechE faculty that have made it one of the top 3 programs in the country (with MIT and Stanford)...USC/UCLA don't even make the list.

Don't ever insult our forums again by comparing Cal to SC.

Are finances a consideration? If you're a CA resident, Cal is considerably cheaper, unless you get significant merit aid. If you're out-of-state, Cal is very unlikely to award much (if any) merit or other aid. USC doesn't use residency in determining aid, since it's private.

I'd suggest you not be overly concerned about where to go until you actually have acceptances in hand.

Tax Bear:
LOL!!!

Funny and true

why are you even asking this? haha

Cal, no contest.

SC Engineering really isn't even in the top-5 in California; it'd be behind Cal, CalTech, Stanford, Harvey Mudd and UCLA.

Hey, I chose Cal over UCLA and USC if that helps.

Seems like a tough choice...
