USC v Georgetown International Relations

Alright, I posted a similar thread on Georgetown's page but I figured I'd ask all you future Trojans out there. Basically, I got into Gtowns SFS for international politics as well as USC's school of international relations. At first, I was set on Georgetown, but now I'm starting to feel that I'd be too lonely on the east coast. My whole family lives in Socal, and I feel that I would have a better college experience at USC. Its just-I need GOOD reasons to pass up Gtown. Would it be easier for me to get into a good grad school from USC? Does the Trojan Family really help when it comes to finding jobs? Does anybody know anything in particular about the IR program at USC (professors, graduates, jobs, etc)?

As an IR major, I would actually like to go to Georgetown for a grad degree eventually. The IR program here is very good, and the professors teach a wide range of areas and worldviews. I believe it is best if you want to study Pacific Rim issues and foreign policy We also have a program where you can teach HS students aspects of IR and you get credit for it.

That said, Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service is one of the best, and it’s location in DC is a big plus.

How is your financial situation with both USC and Georgetown?

Well-USC still has not notified me about financial aid-but Georgetown is being VERY generous. They are offering about 42k out of the 55k total.

Wait to see what USC offers. Go to USC if your passion is international relations in the Pacific Rim (i.e. want to speak Asian languages, study abroad in Asia, etc.). If your passion is outside of Pacific Rim, Georgetown is a great school for international relations.
It has a studious atmosphere. You may find USC more social inclined with parties available than Georgetown (i.e. try to match your personality to the atmosphere).

Actually, if you want to go to study “the pacific rim” and include asian language and asian culture any Top 20 college will work IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

Sorry, I HAD to make that joke.
disclaimer to joke: Do not think that since you meet a lot of asian people here you know about the heritage or culture.
