USC v. UCLA for psychology

I've heard UCLA is very research focused (I'm a student at a CA community college and to get into UCLA psychology one must take, among other things, physics, which I don't understand).

USC is, in my opinion, much more realistic. I've also heard that they have a more clinical focus in psychology, which is what I am interested in.

But what are your opinions?

Yale University

University of Illinois--Urbana-Champaign

that is good, but I don't want a research-focused undergraduate psych program...

i'm not looking to take a bunch of stats and research methods classes that i'll never use in real life.

Although I want to learn as much about Psych as I can, I don't want to teach it after i get a Ph.d or Psy.d (assuming my interests don't change, which they probably will lol).

I want practical psychology not focused mainly on theory, and considering all this USC still seems like the best option.

Yeah i know the research vs. practical aspects of psychology is usually a dilemma graduate students face lol

it sounds like you've already made up your mind on usc.

my only concern for you is that if your terminal degree will be a bachelor's in psychology, you might consider ucla, just for the cheaper tuition. because you really can't expect to find a well paying job straight out of school with a bachelor's degree in psychology. you won't be able to become a psychologist with just a bachelors.

Don't worry lol I already know that... I actually do want to go for the doctorate level degree :)

flopsy- those are the graduate department rankings. and only general psych department rankings- stanford doesnt even have a clinical psych program!

go trojans. i love USC(even though I don't attend nor have I attended)
