Usc V Ucsb

I am planning on majoring in BIOLOGY and revieved acceptance letters to USC AND UCSB..... Money is a concern, but i am willing to take student loans (eventually I am going to have to since I want to go to med school)..... Which school is better????? pros and cons... thanks

USC for four year sets you back 200k. UCSB is much more reasonable in the wallet if your instate. If it is about money, that is your answer. But obviously one has more prestige/better programs (probably) then the other.

If money is a concern, go to USCB. My daughter’s friend is making similar decision. Her mom can’t afford USC.

And IF money ISNT a factor???

As long as you maintain a good GPA and score highly on the MCAT, it does not really matter for medschool which undergraduate school you go to. Entering med school with tens of thousands in undergraduate debt is just a bad idea. Go to UCSB.

The two tangible advantages from USC is the “Trojan Family” (connections) and slightly better research/programs. But for somebody looking to go to med school, and for whom money is a concern, UCSB is the way to go.

I’m biased, my d is choosing USC vs UCSB because she has 1/2 tuition scholarship. I heard class is a little bit crowded. It’s a large school compare to USC.
