USC v UPenn

I got accepted into USC and UPenn and am having a very tough time deciding between the two. I want to major in business with a minor or double major in real estate development.

I got into the Marshall school of business at USC but got into the college of arts and sciences at UPenn. At UPenn I would major in Urban Studies with a minor in real estate development and I guess I could take a few finance courses at Wharton. So I think USC may be more compatible with my interests.

Obviously, the UPenn name has more prestige and I am a little intimidated by that. I don’t know if I belong in the Ivy League. I also love the school spirit of USC and the weather and location of LA. Both schools have strong alumni networks but I want to stay on the east coast after college, and I am not sure if USC’s network stretches that far.

I was deferred by UPenn early decision and took my mind off of it and USC became my dream school. I was so happy when I opened the USC letter and my heart sank when I read the UPenn letter. At the same time, I know what UPenn has to offer, and if I decided on USC, I feel like I’d be throwing away an opportunity that people would kill to have.

I am really torn between the two and any opinions would be of great help.

Will both schools cost you the same?

yes

then go to Penn.
And try to transfer into the Business school if you can.

i have heard that transferring into wharton is borderline impossible

still- for the same $$, and since you plan on staying on the EC, a degree from Penn will open many more doors for you.
The Marshall Business schools’ reputation is meeeeh .
