I am currently a transfer arch student deciding between USC, Berkeley, and SCI-Arc for a Bachelor degree. I just wanted to get some information about how good each program is and how different a BA and a BArch program is in terms of what you learn. I am planning on getting my Masters regardless of which degree I get (BA/BArch) and was wondering if there is a difference between either combination when it comes to getting a job.

just wondering where you are transferring from? I am in a 5 yr B.Arch program and am thinking of transferring to Berkeley next year for a 4 year degree.. do they accept credits or would i have to start as a freshman and do 4 more years there?

thanks if you know anything

but if you want a 5 yr accredited degree.. you shouldn't pick berkeley

I'm from pasadena city college. if i were to go to berkeley, i would enter in as a junior and be there for two years because i finished my lower division at my community college. Why would you want to switch from a 5 year BArch to a 4 year BA?

I applied as a non-arch transfer from SDSU to USC....I really like that the school is a well-rounded university with lots and lots of networking and amazing alumni. USC was the only school I applied to and some how got in?!

I've heard USC's program is good because they don't particularly teach in a certain "style" where as I have only "heard" Berkeley can be more technical....

Also at USC you get 24hr access to your own studio space, pretty sweet, now all i have to do is actually figure out how to pay. bleh
