USC vs Carnegie Mellon Psychology

Which school’s psychology program do you think is better? Which school do you guys think is more well-regarded by employers/general people? I’m having a difficult time figuring out which school would be better for me, as there are not many rankings/indicators on undergrad psych programs. Does anyone have any helpful advice or info??? Thank you!

Well, for what it’s worth, US News (take with a grain of salt…) says CMU is ranked 21, and USC 40 for graduate programs, which is a good indicator of how the undergrad is regarded. CMU is also ranked 6th in cognitive psych if that’s what you want to do… But frankly, the rankings are close enough and neither is at the top-top that you really should pick which school you want to attend, as they are very different.

Psychology is a fluff major anywhere. Do NOT spend thousands of dollars at either school for that degree, unless you are going to work for the family business and need any degree. Otherwise, go to Cal State L.A. and save money.
