USC vs Cornell?

Hi guys, I know this is another ___ v ____ thread, but I was hoping for some insight :).

I applied into the CAS of both USC and Cornell (undecided), and thankfully got into both. I recieved the presidential scholarship from USC, so thats also a factor. I want to study a few things, including economics / agricultural engineering / buisness. Do you guys have any opinions on which would be the better school for me? Thanks for the help :).

um location wise cornell is in the middle of nowhere. But great school nonetheless. Let’s not forget about their GREAT FOOD. lol

Business at USC is really good though.

Anywhere you go it would be good. So maybe factor in things like location, $, student body, etc make your choice from there

Jay,
The Marshall School is an excellent undergraduate school, especially in Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Real Estate and International Business. There are strong ties to the Pacific Rim. The global emphasis is strong. Interaction with alumni is constant.

SC does not have a major in agricultural engineering. The closest would be Environmental Engineering.

One great aspect of SC is there are about 150 majors. So if you find yourself losing interest in your original major, many choices are available.

Tidbits from U.S. News…

Faculty Student Ratio

Cornell 1/10
SC 1/9

Selectivity Rank

Cornell 24
SC 20 (I did not realize this)

Freshmen in top 10%

Cornell 84%
SC 87%

Acceptance Rate

Cornell 25%
SC 21.9%

Alumni Giving Rank

Cornell 15th
SC 7th

The above figures are from the latest issue of U.S. News.

You have wonderful choices. If you can afford to visit both universities, I suggest you do this and have a campus tour. Do note Cornell in the winter is snowy and cold. The campus is enormous and beautiful with an entirely different feel.

Congratulations on receiving admission to two colleges which are dream schools for many.
