USC vs. Syracuse vs. Cooper Union for B.Arch?

Hey CCers! I was wondering if i could get some insight about the School of Architecture for USC, Syracuse, and Cooper Union. I got accepted to USC and Syracuse but I don't know about Cooper Union yet. Still, I want to know what you guys think about these schools because I have to decide soon. What are the pros and cons? Most importantly, how was/is your experience there? Thanks! :D

Already answered your pm… but cooper is a lot of work. My friends there seem to live by the lifestyle of eat, sleep, studio (though that could be said for a lot of arch schools)

@misstrwbrylvr: They’re all awesome schools. I heard Frank Lloyd Wright is going to be a professor at USC. Syracuse’s architecture program is ranked No.2 by D.I., what else do I need to say? And check out their student work on their website [Syracuse SOA](<a href=“Syracuse Architecture”>Syracuse Architecture). They’re awesome! Plus I’m gonna be going to Syracuse :smiley: Yeah, Arctic92 is right, Cooper Union is very very intense. If you wanna challenge yourself, crank out an awesome portfolio, and have no life, go to Cooper Union.

Kendezi, I think you mean Frank Gehry is going to be a professor at USC.

hahahahahahahahaha

@msheft: Haha, my bad XD Yeah, I meant Frank Gehry. That was a really really stupid mistake XD Oh my god, so embarrassed. Hopefully, Syracuse admins won’t see this, they’ll probably take back my offer :D

yep, Gehry’s coming here to teach… it’d be weird if a guy as dead as Wright started teaching here haha

@Arctic92: Yeah, I wanted to type Frank Gehry. But after I typed Frank, somehow I automatically switched to Frank Lloyd Wright. Weird XD. One of my classmate is going to go to USC for architecture this fall.

Thanks guys for all the replies! haha, yes, those two franks are both wonderful architects and i sometimes say the wrong frank too xD
WOW! Frank Gehry! teaching at USC?!?! hes still gonna do projects, right? woooah, thats so amazing, since he graduated from there O_O
my goodness, i want to meet him!
yea, i know cooper union is known for intense programs but i dont know…i thought all great arch schools are like that ><
@Kendezi- youre definite about going to syracuse? im visiting right now and will attend the admitted students reception 2m ^^ did you visit?

@misstrwbrylvr: Yep :slight_smile: I just filled in my admission acceptance form. Nah, I didn’t visit. A lot of work to do right now, especially for my art class. Trying to cram out 2 more art pieces by the end of next week XD

ah, i see…well, it seems like im thinking about Syracuse more right now. haha, i take so long to make decisions. it’s really nice there and i really enjoyed visiting ^^ but i still cant make a definite answer yet. hopefully, i will meet you in the fall! :D

@misstrwbrylvr: yeah definitely :)
