USC vs UCLA admitted student decision

I was admitted to USC Annenberg and I’ve also been accepted off the UCLA waitlist. I don’t know which to choose!! I only have until Friday May 5th 11:59 pm to accept or decline to UCLA offer. I’ve already deposited my SIR to USC so I would lose my deposit but thats ok. I’m concerned about USC cost. I didn’t get money and they denied my appeal. I’d be taking out loans and would be a lot tighter money wise. Also if i decide to go to law school that would complicate things. But they have great connections/networking, international internships, AP class credit, smaller classes sooner, and easier to get classes i want. UCLA has a lot of class competition and difficulty getting classes. And I would have to apply to the Comm major at the end of freshmen year. (So what if i don’t get in?) But i wouldn’t need to take out any loans to go there, they have just as reputable a program, and they have great study abroad. Any suggestions??

USC as in University of Southern California?

Because USC and UCLA are rival schools. Whichever one you go to, you don’t speak of considering the other!

But both are very competitive. USC will cost a LOT more though, since it’s a private school. UCLA is quite expensive though too, but not nearly as much. They’re both in the same area so connections would probably be equal.

Unless USC has something outstanding that draws you to it, UCLA is cheaper and public, so you have more scholarship/funding/loan opportunities. They’re both very prestigious, so either would make you look great.

I would recommend UCLA.

Unless USC has something you really want, I recommend UCLA. Similar prestige, etc. and UCLA is cheaper.

USC annenburg is one of the most prestigious schools in the nation and the number two alumni association
USC will be better in the long run especially when looking for a job

My parents work at USC and I have plenty of family friends that work/attend USC. Coming from an area which is very close to both, I hear this conflict a lot. My advice each and every time is that unless USC has something unique dragging you to it, UCLA is better. They don’t call USC the University of Spoiled Children for nothing. It is infamous for ridiculously lazy students. I’m not saying UCLA doesn’t have it’s flaws, but in my opnion it is a much better school than USC.

USC for sure. I am a current student and I absolutely love it. You will struggle to get the classes you need and get out in 4 years if you go to a UC.

^Not necessarily. Especially if the OP comes in with AP or IB credit. It’s great that you love USC, but lots of kids love UCLA, too. They are pretty equal schools, so it makes sense to go to the one that is significantly cheaper.

Going to ucla, with lot of contacts at usc. USC is ranked high because it takes care of its students. Easier to make relations with profs, get internships and network thru alumni. The money is a back breaker, but lot of ppl get good financial aid and my friends get random 1K-5K scholorships/awards. do they land on your lap? no, but if ur motivated u can get them.

UCLA is ranked high for its prestige, and research. so they really don’t care about students. u have to work harder for things at ucla, and find things out on ur own. but its nice to be pampered haha

USC does not take care of their students. I live about two blocks away from usc. They DO NOT take care of students. they get runned over too much because they are not cautious of where they go. I sat ucla only because they offer more opportunities and scholarships inside. Usc has good programs but it is complicated when it comes to student resources.
