I got my acceptance from USC the other day and assuming I get the money I need I might (depending on acceptance) be faced with the choice of USC or Berkeley or UCLA. And although I would rather not count my hens before they are hatched I thought I might as well be prepared with answer IF i am faced with choice.

I am somewhat undecided about my major (I applied undecided to USC's CAS) but am leaning towards Physics/Astrophysics BA (declared to UC schools). But I might end up doing anything, perhaps gov or poli sci , or something film-related (at USC or UCLA).

So when answering please consider which schools have more maneuverability in exploring academic options!

I’m a longtime lurker, first time poster. What a great thread to start off on!

Let me start off by saying I’m a current Political Science major at UC Berkeley and I transferred from UCR 2 years ago.

These three universities, along with Stanford, are California’s pride and joy. One could not possibly go wrong by going to either of them. Personally, I do suggest UC Berkeley, not because of the program, but because of the overall experience. However, USC has thee best film school and amazing international affairs, political science, and public policy programs and I believe it’s easier to double major there too. USC is usually pretty generous with financial aid packages, but if they shortchange you don’t go. UCLA is located in a great area and it will give you wonderful memories you can look back on, but the academically it cannot hold a candle to UC Berkeley.

There is a thread that I wandered onto and it was absolutely hilarious with opinions of all the California schools. It may give you a feeling of what the student body is like at each university. Although, I do warn you it is not as civil as CollegeConfidential.com.

Latest development, DHL notified me that a package is on the way from USC, either they are giving me a free T-Shirt or I received a scholarship. Both would be nice haha.
