USC vs UCLA vs Cal pre-med

May 1st is so close, and I need to make a huge decision. At this point, I love all the three campuses and wouldn’t mind going to any of the three. I got a half tuition scholarship at USC, so all three schools cost about 10k to attend. (That means money isn’t a factor at all)

Right now, I just want to know which college would be best to get into med school. I know med school primarily looks at GPA, MCAT, and ECs. I am shying away from Cal because I heard of the cut throat competition. I’m leaning towards USC since it’s a private and it’s supposedly easier to get good grades/classes you want. I’m neutral about UCLA.

Can anyone give me any input? Are my thoughts on Cal and USC pretty much true? What are your thoughts on which school to attend?

You will probably get the highest GPA at the school that you feel fits you the best and where you see yourself as happiest. Go through your preferences again re campus, social fit, academic fit, etc., without med school in mind. There are probably two schools there that if you hit the submit button, you wouldn’t feel quite as good about as the other one. Forget GPA. GPA is determined by many factors, and this private vs public, cutthroat vs laidback business is a gross generalization. One particular prof/colleague that you have yet to meet could have more impact on your GPA than any other factor. Cost/debt is not an issue here, so choose happiness.
