First, you need to decide if you're a SoCal type or NorCal type. There is a considerable climate/vibe difference between the two, and if you're one type and not the other, it might be hard to adapt. USC and UCLA have more in common with each other than Cal does with the two. USC tends to attract richer kids, UCLA smarter kids. (Oh, hush up, I'm kidding.) But historically that was definitely the case. UCLA is famous for its overall medical/humanities programs; USC has better journalism, film and business programs. Of the three USC is, I think, in the least interesting area, Berkeley in the most interesting area. USC tends to party near campus, UCLA/Cal's party scenes are less concentrated because the schools are more spread out. So let's take a look at Cal, which is the most different of the three:

Berkeley:
* a truly INTERNATIONAL reputation, much more so than UCLA
* the worst weather
* academically most cut-throat; UCLA is a close second
* more urban than USC or UCLA which are more suburban
* most scenic location
* easiest to live in w/o a car

I see you're from Compton... unless you're a real SoCal person, I say, go north young man. College is about stepping out of your comfort zone. And Berkeley is one of the best comfort zones in the whole of the US ;)

ok lets say i want to major in business. which college has higher job placement?
usc marshall
ucla biz econ
cal haas

of these, which am i more likely to get a job?

Haas for sure.

yeah but haas is hard to get into. ughhh

They all are.

^ yeah but haas is the worst.

@ kingofqueens: Uh...they are in suburbs of LA, not like downtown LA.

I think in general the heart of LA is the hollywood/miracle mile/weho area. That's why katliamom said ucla and usc are in the suburbs. not really a suburb, they're just on the outskirts of the heart of LA.

Downtown LA is like a mile or two north of USC's campus, and unfortunately it's not the heart of LA, geographically speaking it might be, but that doesn't mean anything in terms of the heart of la.

Los Angeles -- with the exception of downtown -- is one giant suburb with mega freeways going through it. Lived in CA for longer than most of you are alive... trust me on this one.

a suburb of what, exactly?
