Ok...so I know there have been tons of threads like these and I've been searching CC for about an hour now looking through threads. It's basically down to usc and ucsd for me...I know that ucsd is strong in the sciences/medical prep areas but im more into business/communication/music so ideally usc should be the place for me. Aside from costs can anyone help me weigh the benefits and flaws of both campuses in terms of location/social life/dorms/job opportunities. I have been doing my homework but it hasn't really gotten me anywhere. If anyone could provide some advice/input I would appreciate it. Thanks.

im in the same situation T_T.. with the exact same choices, but i'm majoring in electrical engineering.

Strengths:

USC
-social life/school spirit
-sports
-slightly more job oppertunities (of course, this depends on your field too)
-better business and film
-small campus that looks clean and appealing

UCSD
-location (better weather/beach, less polluted, and nicer and safer sourroundings IMO)
-stronger sciences
-cheaper cost
-beautiful campus (though quite spread out and big)

Dorms are usually a toss up depending which kind of apartments/res halls you get so u need to check out which ones u like. Also, rankings and prestige are about the same, besides their respective strengths

im sure other people can add to this list. For me, its still quite a coin flip.
I was originally planning on going to UCSD, but my parents seem to strongly support USC. Either way, its my decision, but both sides are looking good, and each has their benifits.
