I've been accepted to USC and Umich. I live in NY so its basically either a 6 hr plane ride to usc or 2 hr plane ride/ 11 hr drive to michigan. Michigan is not giving me any financial aid. and i don't know how much i will get from usc yet. they have given me a 4k scholarship though. To say that I am having trouble deciding would be an extreme understatement. I'm also considering Upenn Nursing though I am not sure i want to be a nurse yet. ANY help would be much appreciated. thanks.

you should VISIT them if at all possible...they are very different...weather/life style/size, etc...

Yes, visit them all so you'll discover the differences between a private and public university and help decide which one is a better fit for you.

I will say that if you're not a fan of snowy winters and long to wear flip-flops in mid-December, USC beats both UMich and UPenn =)

My sister graduated from USC, her husband from UMICH. They watch football games in separate rooms. Both are good schools. My son will be going to USC. He likes, and I like USC, a lot. My sister would agree with me, and she has a USC screensaver, and USC memorabilia all over her house. However, her husband has Mich license plate cover, wears a Mich hat, and his computer room is full of Mich stuff. What am i saying? That I know two people who both very much enjoyed their college days (USC and UMICH), and now 30 years later, they still are both die-hards. It could depend upon your major, and if one school is stronger in that major than the other. Or... do you enjoy cold cold weather? then go to UMICH. Do you like sunny days, going to the beach, wearing shorts at night? Then go to USC.

I hear that at schools as big as UMich, many of the students tend to feel like numbers instead of individuals.
