USC vs. UVA vs. UCLA??

Hi all, I’m very fortunate (and happy!!) to be deciding between these 3 schools but I’m in a dead stalemate. I won’t have the opportunity to visit before May 1, either. I also have no idea what I want to major in, but I am leaning towards something interdisciplinary w/ science and the humanities (at USC it would be Geodesign, at UVA it would possibly be ETP or the Echols major, idk about UCLA). I also know that I don’t wanna join a sorority, but I want a chill environment without the cutthroat competition. I kinda want a school where I can show up to class in sweatpants and not be judged…

Also, at USC I received a presidential scholarship because I’m an NMF, which makes it cheaper than the other 2 (cheaper than UVA by about $15,000 a year). I’m very lucky that cost is not a huge factor for me, giving me this choice. At UVA I would be both an Echols scholar and a College Science Scholar, which are incredible honors that would give me some good perks. I’m OOS for all 3. Thoughts?? Thanks for your help!!

Sorry to tell you this but there isn’t a easy answer for your predicament. If Cost isn’t a issue and you don’t have the opportunity to visit (which to me is huge when picking schools) I suppose your only option left would be try to research how good the programs are for your interested majors are at these schools. Don’t know about UVA but UCLA and USC are both highly respected schools.

I agree. You should visit. These schools are located in very different places and have different cultures. Visiting will help you sort it out.
