USC vs. Wash U for premed

I have two choices, either Washington University in St. Louis or the University of Southern California in which I was accepted into the freshman science honors program. Which university will give me the greatest chance of getting into a top medical school and why. Obviously, it is important for the school to have good advising and plentiful opportunities for extracurriculars like research, shadowing, community service and internships. I know that if I put in the same amount of effort at either school, I will probably get a higher GPA at USC. But a lower GPA at WashU may be better than a higher GPA at USC. Please give specifics on why you think either one is better.

I was also not accepted into either integrated med program

I would choose Wash U. It is known for pre-med programs and has very strong advising.

I would agree with both those statements. However, USC has a very helpful premed fraternity along with its own office of pre-health advising. I need more of an objective look at the comparative GPA at each school. How hard is it to get a competitive GPA at either school

Also, I’m not all too sure whether it would be harder to get good grades at WUSTL then USC. I guess it’s possible that both school hand out the same amount of A’s to the same caliber of student.

WASH U - hands down.
