USC w/ an 1870 SAT?

Hello everyone.

I am a caucasian male from NJ with an 1870 620R 600M 650W and a 3.7 unweighted gpa.

My ec's are good I promise (leadership positions, commitment, varsity letters, lots of volunteer work).

Do people with SAT's 90 points below USC's average even have a shot?

Thanks!

P.S. 9 honors courses and a few AP's. Never a grade below a B.

you definitely have a shot. However, it really depends on everythings like grades, ECs etc. On the Stanford board, someone got into Stanford w/a 1700! However, that person had amazing grades and great ECs. Make sure everything is amazing and above average. Good Luck!
PS I want to go to USC too! Fight On!

1870 is a little bit below average for USC, but still, it's not low enough to auto reject you. If you believe you have good essays and EC's, you should be fine

Yes, it can happen. As Senluck said -if you have good essays and ECs...

im a usc student and the only people i know that got in with a low sat score like yours are minorities

great. i have VERY similar stats, so i guess this means i'm pretty much out of the running.

i applied for film production though, so maybe they'll put more emphasis on my essays.

=[

Apply with the understanding that USC is a reach school for you.

how about an sat with 660M 600R and poor 520W?

writing is negligible right?

1870 SAT/2400 SAT would be fine if your ECs and GPA is above their expectations.

cho1220: A 1260/1600 is below the midrange of SAT I scores for accepted USC applicants. Some universities consider the writing score, but most do not. Each applicant is much more than a standardized test score. With a 1260/1600 SAT I for USC, you will need to have a very strong application in most or all other areas such as GPA, recommendations, ECs, essays & showing that you are a match with USC.
