You can find the back and forth on twitter between Kirk Brennan (Associate Dean, Director of Undergraduate Admission ) and scholarship finalist Jacob Kim here:

On Tuesday (March 20), Kirk Brennan stated that they were aiming for Friday (March 23) to mail the scholarship interview results.

@Indy and Orange,

When did you get your rejections from Northwestern and where do you live? We live in Illinois and still haven’t heard anything. Odd…I would think a letter would take, at most, 2 days to get to us. Again, he doesn’t care that much, but it would be a nice benchmark for us.

^^Northwestern emailed out links to admissions decisions yesterday at 5pm CST

Aiming and doing are two different things now. I’ve been aiming to paint the kitchen for a few years now… Of course, being from Texas, as you know, if they said they were “fixin’ to” then it would be a done deal… :)

I think they were “aiming” for Friday, but “fixin” for Saturday. But, was he referring to scholarship notices, admission notices or both?

My daughter has a classmate whose parent works at USC. Buzz around campus yesterday was that letters from the Admissions office were done and going out in today’s mail. Guess we’ll find out on Monday …

I’m sure the buzz was about scholarship letters, not decisions. Since they already said they’d mail on the 27th I doubt they’d change that especially if they went out of their way to release a fixed date. and @legacymom, check your spam folder for the NU email if you didn’t receive it

Indy and Stanford,

Thanks…wait listed…to be fair, he didn’t show any interest in NU and I had a feeling that would hurt him. There was a specific question about how he got information about NU and had to say from research on places like college board. We live 5 hours from the campus and didn’t visit…that can’t be an impressive thing with admissions. Still bizarre to me that S1 got accepted, when he was neither a NMF nor a valedictorian and S2 is. But I suppose if I tried to figure out the varied decisons of admissions boards, I’d go nuts. Come on, SC…that is all he cares about!

That’s my twitter. Hahahaha. Awkward.

Yeah, good luck on the scholarship Jacob. I hope you get some great news!

@LegacyMom, I am rooting for your S2! I hope we all get some good news this week.

Thanks Big Tex. Are you waiting of news, or just re-living vicariously?

LegacyMom,
Yes, waiting to hear for my S1. He loves USC (first choice) and has applied to Viterbi (Computer Science).

OK, good luck to your son, too! Hopefully, we’ll both have sons in CS!

Thanks LegacyMom. I hope so too!

so monday for people in south cali?

hopefully for people in norcal too! Although part of me hopes it’s Tuesday because I’ll be out of school early enough to get the mail…

I am going to be on edge this week haha

so they wont email the decision? seems strange

I’m so nervous! this week is going to be a long week of checking my mailbox…
^me too, I was wondering why they won’t email decisions. email seems more convenient to me.
