If/when you make a USConnect account, there is an application status check under the admissions tab. Did anyone else get something like this (alamemom, madbean and other frequent helpful posters, the status check seems to be back :])?

"The University of Southern California is pleased to offer the ability of students to receive online messages regarding the status of their application. However, all decision notifications are made via postal mail.

"We have received your Common Application and USC Supplement, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of March, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify freshmen by April 1st. We often like to see the mid-year grades of freshman applicants. If you have not already done so, please submit your final, fall term marks when they become available. Submit a Mid Year Report school form, or click "Mid-Year Grades" in USConnect. Sometimes, in the course of our review of applications, we find that we need additional information. In such cases we will mail a written request. If you receive a request for more information, please respond promptly."

eogaggs: if you have a USCconnect account from going to an admission event or some other thing: use that log in and then go to the admissions page.

My message states, “We are unable to process the status of your application at this time. Please try again later, or Contact Us with any questions or concerns you might have.”

I’m hoping it’s just some random glitch and not a sign that I won’t be considered for scholarships… I’m certain I sent everything in. Oh, the paranoia.

This is pretty cool. So far, there seems to just be the one statement (with the exception of undeniiable’s “unable to process”) so it seems like a good sign that your apps are in and being processed.

Since there has been such calm around here unlike past frantic years with varying status messages which ignited an number of wild theories (and a few correct ones), I’ll share something I heard from one of my sons. A student/friend who works in admissions is helping with a big mailing project today.

Those of you who live in SoCal and close by, stay tuned! Traditionally, mail arrives soonest to those who live closest to USC and spread across the country.

I got this same message (We are unable…), at first. I’m not sure exactly how it worked, but by refreshing/clicking it again multiple times, I was able to get the full “send in your mid-terms, no additional information required, etc.” message.

Check the box that says Document Status for 2012-2013. You will see a list of documents they have received and if you need to send anything.

D did not have the Admission Status box earlier today. Now it’s there and had the same message as undeniiable, I signed in again (I’m having some computer issues) and the “We have received your application…” message is there.

madbean has a great inside tip!!! What other big mailing project could there be???

I have been thinking Tuesday would be the day… In the past, mailings were mostly on Fridays with an occasional Monday. In looking at the calendar this year, last Friday was much earlier than the typical 24th-ish start, and next Friday would be cutting it very close in terms of making all the interview arrangements, so a mailing today with the first packages hitting southern California tomorrow looks very likely to me.

*In the past, the “unable to process” status did not seem to have any connection to decisions - it honestly just seemed that the site was unable to process.

It will be exciting! Hoping to hear from all our college confidential applicants tomorrow and in the days that follow :)

Good luck to all.

I have a question: Does anyone have an “Events” tab on the USConnect control bar after they log in, and if so, does it lead anywhere?
