USC's Carroll making Chow's exit easy

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/cfootball/210838_miller05.html?searchpagefrom=1&searchdiff=3

Chow's possible departure also might hurt national recruiting, particularly with quarterbacks who want to win the Heisman.

Chow has been a critical component of a budding dynasty. Yet Carroll apparently believes the Titans and coach Jeff Fisher -- a former Trojan -- are doing him a favor.

It's way premature to predict USC's downfall; asserting so would justifiably invite ridicule. Of course, they laughed at Cassandra when she was suspicious of Greeks baring gifts. Carroll should feel the same about the Titans.

UCLA Time to rise. USC is over.

Not with the recruiting class USC just pulled in. =)

dare to dream? chow's departure hasnt hurt the last recruiting class, the best in the nation mind you. i wouldnt exactly say SC's time is over just yet. dont be surprised if we are number one this year again.

are you like ucla's b***h or something? it seems like you have a hard-on for everything bruin? whats the matter, no life? and the articles you post are usually trash.

Hey Trojan,

Beat it. This is the UCLA board, we are free to bash the USC dorks as much as we want.

...And if we chance to see
A man from USC
Every Bruin starts to roar.
U...C...L...A...
UCLA, fight, fight, fight! ;P

You know, why is there such an impulse by USC fans to come and ruin our utopia?

Interesting, my friend, who goes to USC, wants to apply to UCLA Medical School; that's his number one choice. He said he's willing to jump ship for a better education.

why ruin your utopia? maybe b/c its so easy. holy cow. what a bunch of losers. i know, it must suck when your football team has never secured a national title when your most loathed rival boast's 12.

back to the topic: last year, chow was offered stanfords head coaching position, a post he openly coveted. yet, only the lure of the NFL interested him.

At least at UCLA students believe in capitalization...or haven't they got around to teaching you that?

And to be honest, who gives a rip about sports...don't get me wrong, I am an athlete and I love sports, but it won't help me get into medical school and it won't affect my classes.

Even if the tuition were even for UCLA and USC, I'd rather be a Bruin any day.

That's wonderful. In fact, congratulations on your second year title as national champions after sharing with LSU the year before.

And so what if UCLA's football team has never secured a national title? We make up for it in other areas. It's about being Bruin, not just winnning every game. And that's the spirit of UCLA students: recognizing that UCLA is already great.

But, if you truly want to play rankings...
1) Interesting how USC is not under "Top CC Universities"
2) US News Report Ranks UCLA #25 with Georgetown University. USC Ranks 30. This means that Wake Forest University, Tufts University, and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill ranks ahead of USC.

So our "most loathed rival" may boast 12 athletic titles, but rarely does a college football player make it to the NFL. It is academics and UCLA's strive for academic excellece that qualifies Bruins as great.

Thus, your intentions to "ruin" our utopia are futile. You have succeeded only in bringing Bruins together and demonstrating your childish behavior by libeling UCLA.

(No wonder Pegasus left you.)

eiffelguy87, we DO have a national football title, 1975 i believe. but its okay, cuz we're just so well-rounded... most NCAA team championships EVER. just won another one this year -- men's water polo. and the tradition continues: men's volleyball is currently #1, men's tennis is #2, women's golf is #2, softball is #3, gynmastics #5, several other teams in top 25, women's soccer made the championship game (lost in OT unfortunately), both men's and women's basketball gonna crack top 25 again soon.

easy children, take a joke.

and please dont refer to usnews rankings. the difference between 25 and 30 is marginal in the scope of the +330 schools in this country. besides, the topic is football. yes, my childish behavior has united all you big bad bruins, all 3 of you. i know rivalry is exciting, but dont take it too seriously.

Does USC even have a medical school?

"i know rivalry is exciting, but dont take it too seriously."

haha yeah.. although in general, i think it's USC that takes the rivalry more seriously. It seems like you guys hate us more than we hate you guys... why?

Yes, USC does have a medical school. USC-County has one of the best trauma unit becaues of its "unique" location.

agreed - i would kill to do a trauma surgery residency as USC-County

Yeah I like USC, just not USC students...is that wrong?

And yes, I would love to get into USC Med School..that is Keck right? Anyways, I guess when all is said and done, I would be fine with getting into Podunk Middle of Nowhere College of the Medical Arts & Sciences Medical School. ;)

"haha yeah.. although in general, i think it's USC that takes the rivalry more seriously. It seems like you guys hate us more than we hate you guys... why?"

never said i hate ucla students.

Some American Med students go to Grenada or Mexico. It's too expensive here.

Exilo, no Johns Hopkins?

I'd do backflips if I made it into USC's medical school. Rivalry is fun and all but in the end, education >> petty rivalry.
