USC's Reputation

hyakku,

my point is USC's business is no better than UCLA's other "obscure" programs. it's all relative really. i thought in undergrad business, there are wharton, ross, stern, hass and then everybody else. based on employment reports i've seen, the business schools in georgetown and nd seem to have more impressive career placement also. maybe the fact that most ivies and top schools don't have undergrad business makes usc business look better under this light. but i just don't think usc business is anywhere near usc film and putting them in the same sentence seems kinda weird to me.

Give USC a few years and the partying will go down considerably. The applicants that got in this year are Ivy League standard. Just wait.

I agree with you Sam, but public perception around here is just that USC has strong programs in those fields. Are they well deserved and always accurate? No, but nothing ever is.

On a side note, I hope not summerlovin. I'm a firm believer in the work hard, play hard mentality and USC is an exemplar of this ideology. I hope they don't change that ever.

Haas is obviously an incredible business school, but the only way to get into it is to apply to it after attending Berkeley for two years in an incredibly competitive pre-business program, knowing 50% of applicants won't get in. USC Marshall admits freshmen, and as the 2nd best business school on the west coast, I think that makes it very prestigious.

^ Haas also accepts outside transfers at the junior level.

hyakku,
I do want to acknowledge their accounting department is one of the best.

Conclusion:

UCLA = USC

End of Debate.

Now go on with your lives now.

most people here don't have lives.... actually they have cyber lives
