Im am planning on hopefully getting into one of these schools. My gpa isnt too great, but if I bust my ass over the next year, I think I can make it happen.
anyway,
My question is, if I am planning on getting a good paying job, that will also lead to good experience for being admitted to a top MBA program, what would you guys recommend? Im just looking for opinions. I mean, I know that ucsd is more renowned, however I have heard that USD's alumni network is amazing, and the small classes would be a benefit for me as far as retaining what I have learned.

I am thinking USD: Bus. Admin or finance, possibly a double major with something else.
or
UCSD: Management science or possible joint Math-econ

I would just like some input on what your experience or opinions are on which school/ major will lead to better opportunities. I know this is sort of comparing apples to oranges, but any input is appreciated.
Thank you.

Cost of tuition is somewhat of a factor.... After college Im interested in consulting, investment, and eventually starting something up on my own, if I cant work my way up to the higher ranks of a company. I would like to eventually go to USC for an MBA. Maybe even Columbia, or wharton because I have alot of family history at those, especially upenn, and that might help.

I recommend UCSD because it's more prestigious and possibly less expensive. However, if you want to get a CPA you will need to take some extension classes to complement your major because I do not believe UCSD has enough accounting classes.

If you get a good GPA at UCSD and decent work experience then you have a good chance at Wharton, Columbia or Marshall. Why are you already planning on obtaining an MBA from USC Marshall? UCLA Anderson is the best business school in Southern California.

I would definitely go to USD over UCSD if you know that you want to major in Business. Let me tell you that it is much easier to get a job (at least in San Diego) with a business degree from USD than whatever business related degrees UCSD offers.

Hahahaahahahaha this is hilarious that 4years later you reply… he is in that debt right now(probably). Me and you look this up on the same day, what a funny coincidence.
