I come from a rough background. Essay talks about a home invasion where I watched my mother and 13 year old sister get held at gunpoint when I was around 7. Dad was an addict and abandoned us when I was around 3 (also in essay). I might also mention that he owes over $100k in unpaid child support. Domestic violence was prominent in my household. Mother is an immigrant from Mexico who speaks little english. Low income, Hispanic, First Generation.

Thank you for any feedback.

USD (CA): Reach (aim for 29+/2000+)
USD (SD): Safety

Bumpity bump bump bump!

Some more would be awesome!

Catria, really? The University of San Diego is a reach for me?

It’s gonna be really hard to get in, try raising test scores.

But their average GPA is around a 3.9 and ACT is a 27.5… I didn’t think it would be THAT challenging. I showed an upward trend from my freshman and sophomore years and achieved what would’ve been around a 4.0/4.1 USD GPA last year. Also, how good are those EC’s?

Here’s a bump

Any more would be awesome. I really am nervous about applying to USD.

Definitely try to get your ACT score up, but you seem to be doing as much as you can possibly do as far as extracurriculars and stuff. I think you have a decent shot of getting in.

Try raising your act score up to 30 and you will be fine. Do a lot of practice tests

Anyone else please?

bumpppppppp
