USD Class of 2024

Yes, D felt the same way. I’m more annoyed by the WL outcome than she is! She had long since moved on (psychologically) because she already heard good news from a couple of the reaches on her list.

Did anyone else hear anything? I’m guessing I should now start to worry if I haven’t heard anything.

@GeloV2, according to the admissions webpage, everyone will have an answer by April 1. So, looks like tomorrow is the big day. Fingers crossed.

On the link in my above posting, there is an interesting FAQ of the difference between Regular Consideration and Late Consideration. Just know that the LC is based on a Mar 1st application deadline and not the Dec 15th deadline. Posting this in case some are waiting who did not make the Dec 15th date.

“The main difference between Regular Decision and Late Consideration is that Regular candidates will receive a decision by April 1st. Late Consideration candidates will not be reviewed and considered for admission until all Regular Decision candidates have been notified of an admissions decision.”

Still no admission packet yet here. My portal updated with next year’s COA but not my financial aid.

Status still C-RFR, however, D did receive an email for Waitlist. She has activated the waitlist and is still hopeful. Best of luck to everyone. Thanks @RidleyBCHS for creating this community. Will check back in every so often in hopes of learning others got in from the WL.

Our D was waitlisted 3/30. USD Her #1 choice. But has good merit money from 5 other schools: Chapman , Point Loma, Gonzaga, Elon , Fairfield. Bio Major.

Still haven’t gotten a response. Really confused and starting to worry.

I got my financial aid award via email today. Still no packet in the mail. I am not exactly expecting a packet given the current circumstances for a while anyways.

I believe they are making final decisions until the end of the day. Don’t let that worry you! A relative of mine used to work in admissions at her university (same sort of admission process as USD) and admittances still went out on the final day of the release of decisions. It might just mean they are taking more time with your application, or your application is towards the end of the queue for the final committee meeting regarding your decision (which is not a bad thing at all, just happened to be the placement of your application in the pool of applicants still waiting for the committee review. Stay hopeful! If they were going to only give bad news these last fews days, I highly doubt they would make anyone wait this long (till April 1st). I am an applicant for transfer to USD, so I am sharing my good thoughts with all of you! PS. REMEMBER, coming from a current college student, it is MUCH EASIER to transfer in. Let me know if you hear anything! I hope this helps you or anyone else still waiting. @GeloV2

Still haven’t gotten a decision. I emailed them already, and am still waiting on a response. If I don’t get one by tomorrow morning, I am going to email them again.

@RidleyBCHS How did your financial aid turn out? I have been rooting for you from the start of this thread.

My daughter just got the admitted tab this morning. Long wait! Not sure about merit award yet.

My daughter was admitted a few days ago but we haven’t received scholarship info yet. I think that I’ve read here that it will come in the mail, is that correct? Also, has anyone been admitted to the Honors program who wasn’t invited to apply but requested the application? How long have admitted students had to wait for Honors program decisions? Like so many others, we’ve found this process to be a bit frustrating!

Anyone still waiting to hear?

@homestretch99 yea, I’m still waiting

A friend of mine that attends the school told me last night that the USD community was hit really hard by Covid-19, so I’m guessing they’re just a bit backed up.

Hi! I was admitted to Honors after having to request the application. I got my decision a week after I submitted it.

How long did it take to receive info 9 (online or in mail) about being awarded a merit scholarship after being accepted?

My daughter’s portal was updated with financial info about 10 days after acceptance. She had to resubmit an amended tax form which may have prolonged it. She still has not received any snail mail
from usd.
