USD vs. LMU vs. UW

So I must decide between,

1.) University of San Diego
2.) Loyola Marymount University
3.) University of Washington (Seattle)

I am from Washington, UW is about 20 minutes from home.

I am looking to study business at all 3 schools above.

Anyone have anything to say about any or all of my schools listed? I need help making a decision..what you got?

Thanks a lot!

bump 10 char

What did USD/LMU offer you in terms of financial aid?

nothin. i do not qualify. $ is not an issue. thanks for the post at least though.

anyone, any comments? bump!

I would save the money and go to UW. UW is a better school than USD and LMU. If you're paying full price for LMU and USD, they aren't worth it, IMHO.

I wouldn't pay the stiff premium. But, if money is no object and you want to get away, I'd choose USD.

If money is not an issue and you're looking to go into business, I would choose USD.

Granted the environments are completely different (28000 students vs 5000 students) and you may want to get away from home, but I can't see any reason to justify spending 30,000 more per year to go to USD/LMU over UW, which has a higher reputation overall and a better business program. Even if you are extraordinarily wealthy, that's just a stupid investment.

i live in southern california and have spent a lot of time at USD. it is a really great business school. ive had some family friends go to USD and major in business and end up with a lot of great internships and opportunities after graduation. you get what you pay for in my opinion. especially is money is not an option.

also UW's good reputation is mostly known in science majors

USD has a beautiful campus overlooking San Diego's Mission Bay & Valley. It is one of the top 100 Universities in the country. They have excellent programs in all areas. And they have a great basketball team too!

thanks guys. ahhhh so USD or UW lol.

bump still don't know

i am scared, bc i think i want to go to UW but i am afraid i wont get into the b-school after soph yr (there is always that risk) then i would have to transfer out bc thats all i want to major in. USd i am already in ya know. But i love UW!

Going to school 20 minutes from home isn't really the full experience. If money's truly not an issue, go away for school (to either one...LMU or USD).

hi huskies! i visited USD today--i live 30 minutes away and was also thinking i needed to go further from home. it is just too beautiful to pass up! i know this is the right place for me to study business. a parent from out of the area asked the tour person "what is there to do, it seems so remote! so funny because it seems so quiet and remote because it is up high and overlooks the ocean and seaworld. it is 5 minutes from everything! downtown=fun, Padre stadium (Qualcomm) 5 min.=fun!, the ocean 5 min.= fun, fashion valley mall 5 min.= more fun! plus the Toreros, men and women are awesome! rated in the top 50 for business. so happy i visited today. also it seems like the perfect size for me. business is what you make of it--no one is going to say "oh, I would hire you if only you had graduated from XYZ school"--well except for a USC alum! jk!!!

UW it is a full experience you won't have at the others.

oooh UCLA, PH.D. .... can you explain more? how so?? (i'm in the same situation as poster, a seattleite considering uw v. usd and others)

i went to a UW frat the other night and loved it :]

more comments!
thanks guys bump

how good/well-regarded/well known is UW's business school?

^ More well known and just as good as USD.

thanks for the post. anyone else, bump

Nobody must like Loyola Marymount.

Princeton Review Ranks it the #7 Most Beautiful campus.

1 Classroom Experience.

And also #4 Most Diverse Faculty.

You'd love it there. L.A is a beautiful area, the school is also extremely safe. LMU is one of the most under rated schools.
