From the instructions, I got the impression it should only be used for very serious things like a death or illness. But now I’m hearing that people used it to explain their ECs more, or talk about an internship. Is that really acceptable? Could I write about how I taught myself some Japanese and explain why I wasn’t able to take three APs last year? And last question: should I write this like another essay or should I avoid the fluff and cut to the chase? Right now I have 642 words but I can easily cut the extraneous stuff.
You can explain why you couldn’t take 3 AP’s last year (although a counselor explanation could also work).
I think this is less of an essay, just go straight to it. At least that is what I’m doing.
Teaching yourself Japanese can be an activity so you can put it in the activities section.
@rdeng2614 Really? You can put that kind of stuff in there? But I already have more important activities I’d like to list so I think I’ll leave it in the additional info section. But thanks so much!
