Use the Additional Information section to expand on an essay

Is this allowed? I cannot fit a 250 word essay, or even a 300 word essay, into the creative section without having it sound really superficial.

It's about research so the other option would be to send in my abstract, but since I have a blank additional information section, can I just use that section?

Thanks

Ofcourse you can use it as you want, its for this purposes.
But if I were you I will take one of the recom letters from the research mentor and make sure he/she mentions about research on paper and I can still have my precious add.info section for further uses

^I didn’t have a mentor, so the only way that I can talk about my research is through myself.

You are allowed to use the additional information section for anything your heart desires.

just out of curiosity: what was research was about?

I would be careful about the extra essay topic, if this same topic (your research) is also discussed in other areas of the application (in another essay, in the EC section, in a Rec. Letter). There’s nothing wrong with another essay, but, ideally, the extra information in the extra section will convey some aspect of you not evident elsewhere.
