nOw.. don't get fussy BUT I think there are unrighteous jobs as in jobs that do nothing for anyone except yourself.. or you don't particularly have to have any real talent or untrainable skill to do. I'll start:
News anchor[reporter, weatherman, the entire news team]
Now... what do you people think, what jobs make you think i could do that i wouldn't want to but i could with my eyes closed, so why are they get paid so much?
GO!

I dont know if they get paid much but there are people who turn wine bottles on racks for a living

work in mcdonalds or burger king and flip burgers all day long......

OK...

"Jobs that do nothing for anyone except yourself" --There are a few jobs in some societies that do not contribute in a material way to the society; however, the jobs are necessary because those societies place importance on employment and supporting members of the community. Therefore, the jobs do have importance, just not in the way we commonly think about.

"or you don't particularly have to have any real talent or untrainable skill to do" --Unskilled labor is still necessary in society, and many people make their livings by doing this kind of work.

"News anchor[reporter, weatherman, the entire news team]" --This is a really bad example. Reporters have to gather information, sift through it, write and prepare stories, perform interviews, and make broadcasts. They, of course, need to understand the topics about which they are reporting. Most reporters have college degrees in journalism or communications. The ones you see on major networks (i.e. not your local town station) often have pages of other qualifications. Weathermen are meteorologists with, at the very least, a bachelor's degree in meteorology. Masters and doctoral degrees are sometimes necessary. These are not only professional scientists who continually work with science, but they can also work in the same fashion reporters do, preparing and delivering news and stories related to the weather.

Real Estate Agents. You put an ad on realtor.com, put an ad in the newspaper, hold a few open houses with pretty flyers, plant a sign in the front yard, and when the house sells, they take 6% of the amount it sold for. And in an upscale neighborhood, a house can easily sell for $2-3million.

Translation: you visit and sell nice houses all day long and get paid a lot for it (if successful).

ihateCA, I agree with what you wrote. BUT what you don't understand is that the difficulty lies in the amount of Real Estate Agents. There are tons! The competition is intense and the agent has to make a serious effort, espically if you want to make a living of off it. It requires little effort to get the liscence but alot of effort to sustain a living of it.

Because they can use proper English while on the air.

Celebrities get paid too much . . they pretty much screw up their lives with all the drugs and alcoholic parties while trying to look presentable, all for what . . the entertainment of the audience?

Yep. That's every celebrity.

I never said it was easy. My point is that they don't contribute as much to the global community as say, a district attorney in charge of prosecuting suspected murderers or judges who enforce justice, or even an investment banker who provides financing for projects which create jobs/improve the economy.

man this has got to be a joke, but since i posted i have to say telemarketers are really useless b/c they never sell anything

Lol, thanks for arguing everything I have to state on this forum, Ari.

So you don't think the majority make too much and then waste it on pointless things?

yea, reporter have to use proper english, but some of them also fill in random chit chat and quick comments b/w stories... see KCAL and their ever so nonstop news... not that i like them... they purposely make it extremely time consuming to maximize advertising

sarorah,

Since when do I argue everything you have to state on this forum? You really think you're that important to me? I simple argue with people who I think say untruths. Don't think that it's you and you alone.

Is that any worse than CEOs who buy yachts or golf courses? People tell me all the time that my fast video card is useless. I tell them that having a consistently high framerate in my computer games is important to me. They say that's useless too.

I'm sure I could point out a few things you spend your money on that a fair number of people would find useless.

And you didn't say "most."

You'd be surprised. You think that new telemarketing firms spring up because it's NOT a moneymaking industry?

I'm sorry, next time I'll try to remember to specify. And I was exaggerating when I said everything. And no actually, I don't have money to spend, kthx. I spend extra money on a calculator, reallllllly useless . . .

Right, and I'm supposed to know this...how?

So you've never bought clothes, shoes, chocolate, soda?

no actually, not allowed

So you've NEVER eaten chocolate, NEVER had a soda, NEVER bought an extra shirt?

You have one shirt, one pair of pants, and one pair of shoes?

I find that hard to believe.

lol i mean recently, and its not hard to believe, my dad lived like that, he wants to implement the same standards on us.
