USF Deferred? Class of 2021

I got a letter today from USF that said
“We have completed our initial review of the academic credentials in your file and are deferring our final admissions decision.
Please ask your guidance counselor to submit an updated official transcript. You may also submit new SAT or ACT scores”

My USF recalculated GPA is a 3.9, and my mother says they most likely deferred me because my junior year grade trend went down, (I was an mostly A student, and started getting more Bs and Cs due to me taking 5 AP classes junior year)

My SAT score is a 1170/1600, and my ACT is a 22.

So they have deferred me, and I’m honestly crushed because USF, in my eyes, was the school I wanted to attend, and I thought for sure this would be one of the schools I would get accepted to.

What should I do? My 1st semester doesn’t show up until Early February, so should I keep retesting until I get a good score?

I’m a board member of my school’s SGA, and I’ve been a secretary for 2 years for HOSA.
My major was the Pre-med Advising, and they never even asked me for ECs, nor did my deferment letter ask me to get letters of recommendation or write an essay. Should I do it anyway?

Bump…

What’s even weird is that the OASIS portal says a decision hasn’t been made, but I have a deferral in my hand? That’s weird? :frowning: :-?

Bump…

I really need input on this please 8->

I would say try to raise your test scores.

Prepare for the SAT and take it again.

Get good grades this semester in HS.

Send it all in when available.

You need to demonstrate improvement. There’s not much else you can do.

Did you hear back?

Did you end up retaking your SAT/ACT?
