USF made student wait until 60 hours completed to accept

Has anybody else had that problem? On the website it urges students to apply as transfers once they are 75% done with their aa degree. Well a friend of mine did exactly that, and he was told that he would have to wait until his last semester grades were posted to gain entry into the university.

I know they want students who have completed around 60 hours. When I applied, they asked for an essay asking why I wanted to transfer before I completed the required amount of hours, which is 60.

So when you complete 45 hours you can apply and get accepted to enroll after you complete 60 hours. Nothing wrong there.

" he would have to wait until his last semester grades were posted to gain entry into the university."

This is normal. Transfer admissions aren’t truly final until the semester’s grades have been posted. This is the same as freshman applicants: offers of admissions can be rescinded if the final grades aren’t good enough.

Hi, I already applied to USF and I urgently want a decision on my application… my AA will be ready on June 2017 and I applied for fall 2017… so that meand they won’t accept me until they recieve the 60 credits on JUNE??? that’s way to soon to the day of entry! by that time I already should have had placed a deposit

A lot of the time transfer admissions are conditional. For example, Villanova won’t even begin considering your application until they get an official transcript with the spring semester grades

That’s ridiculous… When you have to sort out housing, financial aid, and possibly find a job, it doesn’t make sense to wait until last minute. If I had an conditional acceptance I would be fine because I would know where I stand. At this point, I have nothing. It’s clear my application has been evaluated because I can see how many credits were accepted to transfer. When I speak with admissions, they are either telling me conflicting things, or saying that I have to wait 8 weeks for an decision it’s been 7

I mean yes - it sucks - but that’s why you have to do research beforehand and talk to admissions people, because at that point you might realize you need to change a school on your list.

Well – I spoke with them and they told me that they do make decisions based on partial transcripts, I just need to wait the allotted 6-8 weeks. I take this as a sign, I am still considering them but…
