I plan to pursuit CS master's degree in Fall 2013 in US. Getting a job there is another objective from me. By the way, I've been working for 5 years in China as a software engineer after I got my bachelor's degree.

I got admission letters from University of San Francisco and Illinois Institute of Technology. And I am still waiting back from San Jose State University's acceptance. Both USF and IIT has better ranking but also higher tuition. About the location, I prefer SF Bay Area to Chicago.
SJSU is located in the heart of Silicon Valley. I don't know whether SJSU has a better reputation in IT Employers because of its location.

So what school would be more benefit to me for a computer science major and have companies come in to hire after graduation?

I am sure that employers do a lot of recruiting at SJSU, as they do at IIT. The proximity to Silicon Valley is important but students from IIT also end up on the West coast after graduation.

I can’t really tell you too much about the USF and SJSU programs but as a faculty member at Illinois Institute of Technology, I speak to what we offer. We had over 160 companies come to each of our career days this year and a large majority of them are interested in students with software experience. IIT has Ph.D. programs in computer science as well as Masters degrees. If your interest lies in that direction, there are possibilities to get involved in M.S. thesis research. As for the location, Chicago is very different than the Bay area but it is a very livable city. Students who come here like to stay.

By the way, this thread might have received more attention if it had been posted in the proper location: “Graduate School”

Thanks a lot for your information, xraymancs.
