USF Public Health Program

I'm looking at USF's Public Health program and also FSU's psychology program as a premedical degree. I have a couple of questions about USF that I'm hoping someone can answer.

Does anyone have first hand feedback on USF's public health degree?
How is the campus/surrounding area crime-wise, activities, nearby hospitals(for EC's)?
I'm considering pursuing my masters in epidemiology (public health), any feedback on that program?

I'm hoping to take a tour in late March when I visit family in the Brooksville area.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

USF Health is a state of the art, cutting edge health program. I’m not familiar with the fine details of USF’s Public Health Progam but I’m sure it is first rate if it is associated with USF Health. The west side of USF’s campus has all the medical, health, and hospital facilities clustered together. USF is safe and even has its own police dept. and also private security patrolling 24/7. You’ll see everything up close when you visit. The courthouse in Brooksville is about a 70 minute drive to USF.

Thanks for the reply. If I get accepted at both USF and FSU it’s going to be a tough decision. I love FSU’s campus and a few friends that attend FSU sing its’ praises all the time. I am also pre-sold on USF’s public health degree and research pedigree. If I am not accepted into a medical school on the first go-round (likely) I am seriously considering USF’s MPH with a focus in epidemiology. I’ll have my Psych AA done by Fall of this year so I’m just kicking stuff around.

Again thanks for taking the time to reply and answer some of my questions.

USF recently honored Brooksville Hernando High School graduate Dr. Paul Farmer for his tremendous humanitarian efforts worldwide in public health. Farmer is one of the most widely respected medical anthropologists in the world.
