Hey if anyone goes to USF can you please tell me how the school is? I got accepted in the spring 2011 as a biology major. UF was my number one choice, but I'm not sure if I'll get in. Anyways, I figured out that I can do the honors program at USF. Does anyone recommend this, and is it that difficult? I work better in a small class setting, so I think the honors program would be a great idea. For some reason, I am really nervous to take my chemistry at a bigger institution. I did well in chemistry at the community college I went to, but there were only 10 kids in the class. Does anyone know how difficult chem II is at USF? All feedback would be appreciated, thanks!

hey i dont go to usf but i am looking to transfer there-
if you dont mind me asking how were your grades as you transferred?

thanks

lav, I’m a USF student and the school is fine by me. If you haven’t already, you should phone and talk with an advisor at USF’s Honors College about the program. If you are eligible for it and invited, go for it. I’m not in the Honor’s College, so I’m not familiar with all its inner workings, but I’d be surprised if they offer too many classes with only 10 students–few colleges offer classes that small.

Jacko, I had a 3.75 GPA and applied as a lower division student without an AA degree and got in for Fall 2010. I decided to get my AA this semester though and got in the Spring 2011 too. Lizard, based on what I read on the honors college website they are not starting their program again until the Fall 2011. I’m currently in a class of 10 at the community college I go to for a chem course. At a university I am aware that the classes will be much larger. Lizard, what is your major if you don’t mind me asking?

lav, I’m majoring in Communication Science and Disorders, and also Education. I’m on track to get two bachelor’s degrees spring 2011.

USF’s new science building is being built now and should be open for you fall 2011. It’s huge, and among other features, it will have 45 labs. Lots of elbow room, and less crowded classes!

Oh alright. That is great that USF is making a new science building. I am looking forward to USF. Hopefully I will get used to the big class sizes that aren’t here at community colleges. I hope their biology program is a good one.

oops…spring 2012!
