Hello, I’m OOS and interested in attending USF as a junior transfer. I’m likely to pursue the environmental science and policy major, however I’m curious what the pre-reqs are for the major since I’m having difficulty navigating the site for them. Also, since it’s such a big move (I’m from the Midwest) I’d like to know more information about the social life and campus community. I had visited campus during spring break so I didn’t really get a good feel for student life.
Hows the social scene? Quiet? Partying? Places that are popular for visiting?
Is it generally a safe community/town area?
I noticed on the map it’s fairly close to the ocean(Hillsborough Bay), is this a popular destination for students?
I’ve heard a few posts about Y-Bor, what’s it like?
What’s housing like around campus? Any sports for students to attend?
Are there plenty of research opportunities?
I plan to talk to advisors in the next week as well about my major, but any extra info is greatly appreciated! Here are my stats if they matter:
HS GPA: 3.02
ACT: 35
College Cumulative: 2.67 (bad start due family concerns)
Credits: 70
The last 33 credits I have taken I’ve averaged a 3.83.
Currently taking 21 credits in engineering physics, college Chem 1, zoology, art history and English gen Ed, looking at a 3.92.
