USF vs UF Computer Science Graduate Program

I’m currently an undergraduate majoring in Computer Science at USF. I graduate this August and my GPA is around 3.6. I want to know if it’s worth going to the CSE graduate program at UF instead of entering the graduate program for CSE at USF. If I go apply to the program at USF they’ll waive the application fee and I’m guaranteed to get in. But I’m interested in UF because I keep reading that it’s the top school for Computer Science and Computer Engineering in Florida.

My question is this: going to UF will be more expensive because of housing costs, but would it be worth getting an MS degree there instead of at USF because it’s a better CSE program? Or is the difference minuscule and I might as well save some money and just go to USF? I ask this both in terms of the program experience and the long-term opportunities.

All of my friends have told me that UF is much better than USF. They went to USF. UF has a much higher graduation rate. I lived by USF for 2 years. It’s a party school. 50% or lower grad rates. Just make sure you are past the weed out classes at UF.
