I have several questions about the Universoty of South Florida.

How is it in marine biology/marine science?

Also, how hard is it to get into the school for an out of state student. I'm not sure how selective it is or what kind of GPA is needed to get in.

USF isn't that hard to get into. I'm from Florida and graduated from a FL high school and a large portion of my graduating class went to USF. Some of them were not so bright. I'm not sure about that specific program, but if you have pretty good stats I'd say you have a good chance at getting in.

Local joke is UCF U Cant Finish because of the parties and USF U Shouldnt Finish because it is bad. Most people go there as a last thing before a CC. But it should be ok in marine biology. I know either florida atlantic or one of those os supposed to be really good at marine biology. You can get into USF easily with your gpa.

I thought USF was getting more credibility and becoming a good school quickly. Where is Florida Atlantic though and how hard is it to get into there.

Yea, USF is ok. Similar to what klf1120, most of the people that go to USF arent that bright. Most of the kids from my school that go there are barely ranked in the top 25% of our class. The top 10% of my school generally goes to UF or UM. In the post above you mentioned that you thought USF was getting more credibility, I think you are confusing USF with UCF.

It's in Boca Raton, Florida -- on the southeast coast of Florida. It's a great school in a great area. You should definitely check it out; look into our SeaTech campus and our options for Semester-at-sea.
