I'm interested in USF st pete because its a smaller school and I like the area. I want to major in History and minor in education possibly. My Sat is R: 590 W:510 and M: 470. My GPA is 3.7 and I take APs plus duall enrollment. Theres not many reviews about it, so does anyone have anything to say about it? Any history majors? And hows the financial aid?

Hello is anyone out there?

USFSP is located in downtown St. Petersburg near the Tampa Bay waterfront. The campus is intimate and compact and located in a nice setting by downtown which means you can walk to nearby stores, restaurants, etc. I’m at USF in Tampa, so I’m not familiar with history program at USFSP. USFSP is a public state university with relatively low tuition for Florida resident students; USFSP I’m sure has financial aid and scholarships comparable and competitive with other colleges.

What majors are offered at USFSP? My very good friend lives there and has preteen boys. They are very bright and might want to do summer programs or eventually dual enrollment there. I know one already did a Duke TIP program this summer, so they’re at the age to start looking at some precollege academic programs.

I never got to St. Pete itself, but I loved Clearwater. I also drove from Clearwater to Sarasota and noticed a few campuses of USF along the way. I seem to remember one by an airport to the south of Tampa.

Such a beautiful area. I wouldn’t mind spending four years of my life there.

The USF campus on the Tamiami Trail (US 41) across street from the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is USF Sarasota-Manatee. USFSM and USFSP are both independent colleges that are members of the USF System. USF-Tampa is considered the main flagship campus in the USF System.

^^^Yep, that’s the one I saw. I didn’t see the campus, just a sign, and it got me curious. Will let my friend know about all three of them. Thanks so much for the info!
