does anyone plan to purchase a bike and use it around campus? i'm trying to decide whether getting a bike would be useful, or just a waste because i'll just end up walking everywhere or commuting.

Make sure it’s a junky piece of crap nobody else would want. Bike theft is rampant in and around the campus.

HAHHA ^cracked me uppp. k brb gna go buy a bike thats a junky piece of crap :D

A lot of people use bikes, so you wouldn’t be an “abnormal” one to have one on campus. Buy a good lock, lock the bike on the frame and not the wheel. As MasterKuni said, don’t buy too beautiful of a bike … but if you buy a junky piece of crap, at least make sure it works ;)

Please be careful around vehicles, respectful around pedestrians though. I found that while most bikers are pretty good about safety, some are very reckless.

You’re not allowed to ride a fixed gear bike unless you also have earrings and a chin beard.
