So here's the situation: Early on I thought my top choice was one school, I applied early to it and was rejected. My counselor wrote in his rec that that school was my top choice. No big deal, he changed it for me. Problem is, I don't think he can change it on the common app and I'm not sure if I could just mail the rec to my current top choice (which became my top choice a few days before I was rejected from my previous top choice) because the common app school report would still be there and they'd still read it for the transcript, etc.

I clearly don't want to make it seem like I want to go to another school when this current school is my top choice, so I'm wondering if it's a good idea to use the additional info section of the common app to write a short paragraph or two explaining my interest in the school (perhaps indicating my situation, if that's a good idea? I also didn't get a chance to sign up for an interview -- they aren't required, but recommended -- and I'm not sure if I should just ignore that and the part in the counselor rec and just talk about how interested I am in the school, or address them directly and continue this sentence into a really long and grammatically horrible run-on sentence). I'd obviously make a new version of the common app for just that college, so it wouldn't get sent to the rest of the colleges I'm applying to. But is this a good idea, and would it fit in the additional info section?
