Is it a good decision to use the AP credits and skip the Math 115/116 and the ENGR 101/151 courses in the first year of Engineering?
Is it better to do calculus all over again one more time in college?
If you received a 5 on your Calc BC AP I would skip the first year of university Calc and start in Calc 3. Calc 3 and differential equations. Those classes - especially with the revamped curriculum- can be pretty challenging so make sure you do a pre-class refresher and allocate more time than is typical for a 4 credit class.
My son meets with his engineering advisors 2-3x per semester, they can be extremely helpful in navigating all of the university courses. He/she can help you choosing the correct sequence.
Your first meeting with your advisor takes place at Freshman orientation where you will also register. Your questions are better answered in person where he/she can review your record and interests with you.
