My plan at stanford is to major in management science and engineering (one major), which is still very heavy on the math and sciences. I know that I could start at later calculus and physics classes but even if I get the 4s and 5s required, i dont feel that I might be prepared enough.

So, is it recommended that I take the intro calc and physics classes anyways if my major is engineering based and if I do, would that mean that I would fall behind other engineering majors?

My son had both calculus AB and BC in high school, got 5 on the AP test both years. He went right into the CME sequence (linear algebra, differential equations, partial diff eq). Granted, he is very strong in Math. But he has done very well in the advanced math classes at Stanford.

He is just taking Engr 14 - Statics this quarter. That will be a test of his physics preparation. The AP places him out of E&M and Mechanics. He still needs to take "Heat and Light".
