<p>I'm applying early to Georgia Tech, and one of the essays is writing about my "academic or extracurricular background". Now, my common app essay is about a hiking trip, and I connect that to the good/bad decisions I made. Does hiking count as an extracurricular activity?</p>
<p>Note - The trip was just for fun with friends, nothing related to clubs or such.</p>
