Hi,

I just found out we can pay tuition with a credit card with no additional fees. Our current card offers reward points but I'm wondering if there is a better one out there? We would charge the tuition bills and then pay the card off in full. Seems like a nice way to build up some points for air travel, etc.

Any suggestions?

Wow, what school does your child go to? Few schools, I’ve heard, allow tuition to be paid via credit card :P

I don’t know what school techiemom will be paying, but my D attends USC and they accept credit card tuition (and all other billed costs) payments. We do as techiemom is planning - use the card and then pay it off in full in order to get the points. (Our part is pretty small thanks to merit and need-based aid, but every little bit helps!)

I was wondering about the fees that I had heard of, and a quick Google turned this up.

I think this varies school to school. I checked with the financial aid office and as of now they said there were no additional fees or charges.

So far, no fee at USC, but we plan to double-and-triple check again this year to be sure one hasn’t been imposed. With the current economic situation, I would not be surprised.

If they do impose a fee, we would not use the credit card.

I would positively love it if I could pay my tuition via credit card, especially since I live abroad. EFT fees keep adding up! T___T
