Using CTY or EPGY to pass out of Math 53 & 54 (EECS)

I'm currently an in-state Junior that's pretty sure about applying to EECS next year for the Class of 2013. I've been looking at JHU CTY distance learning and the Stanford EPGY online classes, and was wondering if I'd be able to by pass the Math 53 & 54 requirement for EECS using these classes, or if I could test out of these classes?

Community College courses aren't an option unfortunately, at least until Summer 2009, and online classes are the only ("official") way I can take more math. But I don't want to pay $600+ for something I won't get credit for; in that case I'd put a greater priority on taking Physics C: Mechanics (Physics 7A) over "enrichment" math classes.

Thank you!

I wouldn't bank on it. The only guaranteed ways of getting credit for classes taken before Cal are either to AP out of them or to take them in a Community College (check assist.org). Anything other than that seems like a risk, although they may allow it. I would definitely suggest taking C: Mech if you can, and 53&54 at CC. All of them offer it, and you can be sure it transfers to any UC, even if you don't end up going to Cal.

Okay, thanks. I will probably still take Multivariable so the on the off chance that I get into and attend Stanford (get credit), MIT (test out), or another private college. And taking no math for a year makes me seriously uncomfortable, college apps wise as well as knowledge-wise.

I actually think you wouldn't have much of a problem using the EPGY stuff to "test out" of the 53/54. Certainly it would make sense to keep your math skills up. Even if you had to "retake" 53, if you've actually learned the material already, then it would be a breeze, I don't see the huge difficulty.
