<p>Okay this is something i've been wondering. Can using fee waivers for the schools application be an advantage or is it more of a disadvantage? My family doesn't make much money, so i used fee waivers for all my tests and applications, and my essay talks about growing up in a "poor" household. Do you think this will end up hurting me, or help me in admissions?</p>

<p>The fact that you use fee waivers doesn't lessen your poor status in any way.</p>
<p>Well, would you have been able to comfortably pay for the applications and tests without the fee waivers? If the answer is "no" then you probably couldn't have applied to the schools in the first place and you would have been screwed :P. Anyways, the only positive I can see is that it will legitimize your essay. Other than that, it can't hurt or help you.</p>
<p>If you are low income, you should have looked into the Questbridge application. That time has come and gone now, though. Low income will be good for schools with large endowments who are actively recruiting low income students for diversity. On the other end of the spectrum, low income may be harmful for schools with low endowment. If you are in the the top 25% of their applicants, you could get rejected because of finances.</p>
