<p>I'm in my first year of college, and I'm trying to apply for internships, and this one research internship requires two references. I haven't really made any connections with any professors this year because my classes have all been a few hundred people, so I was wondering if it would be okay to use a high school teacher or counselor as a reference, along with a professor at another university who was my mentor for a research internship a couple years ago. </p>
